Purpose-built for polar exploration and transformed by a major refurbishment in 2017, Silver Cloud is Silversea’s first hybrid expedition ship—designed to deliver Antarctica’s raw beauty in ultra-luxurious comfort. Accommodating up to 240 guests in polar regions (254 outside), she offers one of the highest space- and crew-to-guest ratios in expedition cruising.
With 20 zodiacs and 10 kayaks, guests can enjoy simultaneous, intimate excursions that bring you closer to towering icebergs, penguin colonies, and breaching whales. Four dining venues serve exquisite cuisine, and 80% of suites feature a private veranda, offering the chance to witness Antarctic wildlife right from your balcony.

The Silver Cloud remains one of the most popular of the Silvesea ships and was thankfully refitted in 2017 to allow for polar expeditions. On these Arctic and Antartic cruises, she takes a maximum 200 passengers in keeping with the international regulations, where only 100 passengers are allowed on the ice at any one time. On other non-polar expeditions, she will sail with here full compliment of 254 guests.
