National Geographic Endurance Cabins combine modern comfort with the rugged capability of a purpose-built polar expedition ship. Launched in July 2021 and named in honor of polar explorer Ernest Shackleton’s legendary ship, the National Geographic Endurance is designed to navigate polar passages year-round while offering exceptional comfort. Accommodating just 138 guests in 76 spacious cabins, including two solo cabins, the ship is built for intimate exploration of Antarctica and remote destinations such as Northeast Greenland, Jan Mayen Island, and the Northeast Passage.
All accommodations face outside and feature large windows or private balconies, along with private bathrooms, individual climate control, Wi-Fi, and an expedition command center with tablets and USB/mobile-device docking. These thoughtfully designed spaces provide a warm and comfortable retreat after days of exploring ice-covered landscapes and wildlife-rich shores.
Beyond the cabins, guests can enjoy a lounge and bar, gym, yoga studio, outdoor infinity-style hot tubs, ocean-view saunas, library, spa, photo workshop, and two restaurants serving local, sustainable cuisine, including a chef’s table for intimate dining. The ship also carries Zodiac landing craft, kayaks, snowshoes, cross-country skis, and specialized equipment for immersive exploration above and below the water.
With expert expedition staff, a National Geographic photographer, certified photo instructor, wellness specialist, full-time doctor, and advanced presentation and photographic facilities, the National Geographic Endurance delivers an engaging expedition experience where comfort, education, and adventure come together in some of the world's most remote polar environments.
